2012 not R2 Essentials to 2019, stuck steps 15, 16, ...

Migrating a 2012 Essentials (not R2) to 2019. I am up to step 15 (remove Essentials) and 16 (migrate CA). These obviously don't work on non-R2, as per some other forum posts. Please let me know how I should proceed after step 14 to complete the migration. The guide has been very useful so far, thanks for taking time to document all the steps along the way.

Hello Glenn,

Yes, that can be a problem. Can we get together and do a Microsoft Teams session so I can finish it for you? What I would like to do is to do a meta data cleanup after you have migrated everything else like data etcetra.

We can do this over the weekend if you want, pls send me an email.

    Glenn and I joined a Microsoft Teams session and fixed this as follows.

    1. Turn off the old R2 Essentials server. This server should never be connected to the network in the future,
    2. Do a metadata cleanup of the R2 Essentials DC,
    3. Renamed new DC to get the hostname of the old R2 Essentials DC,
    4. Optionally migrate the CA to the new DC

    Thank you again for the time today to work through this issue and answer other questions. Great to work with someone who has done this many times and knows all the little (and big) issues with migrations and how to successfully resolve them in a timely manner.
