2012 Server Essentials

Hello All,

I've been getting mixed respones. So I am hoping someone here can help me out. I've read that it's not supported to run exchange server 2016 on Microsoft 2016 Essentials.

My question is. Is it possible to run exchange server 2013 on Microsoft 2012 essentials  or 2016 Essentials. and to note the 2012 essentials version is not R2.

    The answer to both questions is NO. You cannot install any Exchange Server version on any Windows Server 20xx with Essentials. It will break the console and other stuff and it is not supported by Microsoft. You should virtualize the Essentials server and create another (second) VM to run Exchange Server.

    Thank you so much for you response. You are absolutely correct. I learned the hard way. I tried to install it and just about everything broke.
