AnyWhere Access Wizard Fails and Need to Renew Certificate on Windows Server 2016

Hello,

I have a Windows Server 2016 Essentials server that was converted to Windows Server 2016 Standard this past year.  It is time to renew the SSL Certificate for the Remote and VPN access, but when I run the AnyWhere Access wizard, it fails with error "The domain name was not setup for your server...an unknown error has occurred.  Please wait a few minutes and try again".  Restarting/waiting does nothing.  The wizard also fails during the Repair Option.

I was able to do a CSR from IIS and import the new Cert into IIS, but cannot bind the new certificate to the SSTP VPN so receive an error 20255 with the VPN connection.

I understand there maybe an issue with the TLS settings on the server which prevents the Anywhere Access wizard from working.  I haven't tried any solution as of now as I don't want to make matters worse.  Please advise my best way forward as I have a week before the SSL certificate expires.

Thanks!

Thanks!  I was able to complete the wizard and it says Anywhere Access is ready to use.  The Remote Web Access page shows the corect Certificate date.  However, the VPN connects, but I am not able to access shared folders.  The IPConfig shows a valid address for the VPN connection and I can ping the remote address.  I ran the repair in Anywhere Access.

    Thanks again.

Okay.  Everything appears to be working now.  The Remote Web Access page shows the correct Certificate date and I'm able to access the shared folders via VPN.  I ran the Anywhere Access repair a couple of times and restarted the server.  Thanks for your assistance.
