Hi, all. Brand new to the site and looking for assistance on connecting a Mac Book Pro running Big Sur (11.5.2) to a server that's running Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2. I've followed the steps set out on this page: https://server-essentials.com/support/connecting-a-mac-with-os-x-109-mavericks-to-your-windows-server-2012-r2-essentials and through the Mac Finder (Go... Connect to server..). Neither method is working. Instead of landing on the blue Microsoft page, I'm receiving an error that the server isn't available. Note: These steps do work on a Mac Air that's running 10.14.6
Also, the mac pro is able to "see" the server on the network. So if I go to finder, network, I can see the server and other computers. But when I try to click on it and access it the connection fails.
I would greatly appreciate any advice as I have a brand new Mac that I can't use to access work files.
Last note: It's a very small business and I am the IT dept
Check DNS settings on the Mac and make sure it uses the IP address of your Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2
