Hi,
I have moved the WSE 2016 from a physical computer to a virtual machine, and then upgraded the OS to be Server Standard maintaining the Essentials Experience. It was working, but now the Essentials management service will not start with an error 1067. There are faults in the event log related to .NET and sharedserviceshost, but that doesn't really tell me much. The backup service also crashes. Could this be a VM related setting? It has plenty of assigned memory and CPU I believe.

The solution was to delete the backup catalog. powershell > wbadmin delete catalog
Restart backup service
Then the management service will start
