Thanks, Mariette for fixing the issue today with the shared folders not appearing on the 2016 Essentials folder (after a successful migration from SBS 2011).
Tonight I was going to install Windows 10 ADMX files to Group Policy on this 2016 server. But when I opened up GPM to check things out first, I clicked on the 'default domain controller policy', and it displayed the following message:
"The permissions for this GPO in the SYSVOL folder are inconsistent with those in Active Directory. It is recommended that these permissions be consistent. To change the SYSVOL permissions to those in Active Directory, click OK."
I didn't want to click OK without checking with you first. Thanks
Does this help "Permissions for this GPO in the SYSVOL folder are inconsistent with those in Active Directory" message when you run GPMC
Mariette, thanks, I had already saw and read that KB port from Microsoft. Like I said, I just didn't want to click "OK" (which is what the KB article says to do), without checking with you first. Also, that article was addressing 2003 to 2008 migrations. I just wanted to be cautious and careful. I'll give it a try to night after everyone is off the server.
I just did that on another WSE 2016 and did not find any problems but as always, make sure you have a backup.
