IP Address ambiguities within Steps 13, 14 and 15 of SBS Essentials 2011 Migration to WSS 2019 Guide

Step 13 lists a new IP address of 192.168.16.6 for the wss2019 server (Temporary Domain Controller).  I have chosen 192.168.0.101 for my wss2019 TDC; (should be OK)

Step 14 lists an IP address of 192.168.16.5 for the DNSCLientServerAddress.  Is that your SBSe's IP Address?   My SBSe IP is 192.168.0.201; (should be OK)

Step 15 "ipconfig /all" seems to confirm the above addresses but lists a Gateway of 192.168.16.2   Where does that come from?  Mine is set to 192.168.0.201 (The SBSe's IP).  Should the Gateway be pointing to the Router (192.168.0.1 in my case), same as is found in the SBSe server's Gateway IP setting?

    The gateway in my network is at 192.168.16.2 and that is a router. If your new DC runs on 192.168.0.101 and your old SBS runs on 192.168.0.201 you should set Preferred DNS on the new DC to the IP address of the old SBS = 192.168.0.201 and Alternate to 127.0.0.1.

    It cannot be that your Gateway has the same IP address as the old SBSe. If that is really the case the SBS has been installed in a not supported way, it is then a router and you are facing problems.

    Pls, post the output of ipconfig /all in your answer so that we can see what is going on.

    I think I have IP addressing correct:   This is the results of "ipconfig /all" (ran from the Temporary Domain Controller VM) named ws2019 per Step 10.   I added notations after the "<<<"  (details) in three locations below

    If that server is already promoted you need to add Preferred DNS server address = 127.0.0.0 and set Alternate to SBSe2011
