Mail not sending from Exchange 2016 - Send Connector settings?

We have migrated all user mailboxes to a new server on a different public IP (2010 at the office, and 2016 at the DC), and we have a new FQDN for 2016.

Do I just create a new send connector for 2016 with the new fqdn in the scoping dialog?

I didn't see anything about send connectors in the migration guide?

Thanks,

David

So I have changed the SBS Send Connector to ONLY have the new Exchange 2016 server, and the 1 queue with 81 messages went, but the other Queue remains, which shows the <2010 AD site; version 14> as the Next Hope Domain, with 'SMTP Relay to Mailbox Delivery Group' as the Delivery Type (with 104 messages).

This is having the same 'Cannot achieve Exchange Server authentication' error.

I'm assuming this is because the 2016 server is attempting to proxy back to the 2010 server.

I'm going to get Public Folders moving now and have something to eat.

Looking forward to some guidance please :)

I am very confused why I don't see any mention of send and receive connectors in the Exchange 2010 to 2016 guide.

I now have 2 queues with 103 and 81 messages in 'Retury status and Last Error of:

{LED=451 4.4.395 Target host responded with error. -> 451 5.7.3 Cannot achieve Exchange Server authentication}

Not sure what to do next...

    I just added the new server to the SBS send connector, and outbound mail flow started again.

    There was also a 'Relay' queue pointing to the old server, that was not flowing, yet _some_ messages did make it out of that queue - these were all just internal messages, and I deleted the queue. I'm assuming this is a transient issue that will not recur, and guessing it's related to messages being proxied back to the 2010 Exchange from 2016, which isn't going to work (if I understand correctly).

    Thanks Mariette
