Finally getting started on my migration !
Up at step 3: Migrate FRS to DFSR replication in SBS 2011 (going to Win2016), just entered command "dfsrmig /getglobalstate"
Instead of getting a response like the one in the guide (DFSR migration has not been initialized) I get this :
Current DFSR global state: 'Start'
Succeeded.
Everything before in step 3 went exactly as in the guide. Was Win2003Forest, now Win2008R2... identical
Now, in the past, I've configured DFSR for file replication between servers... could this have an impact on the message I'm seeing ?
Yes, this happens if DFSR is already doing something between your servers. Continue with the steps in the guide.
Everything went well, thanks :)
Getting to Exchange 2016 setup on my new server... getting the same error seen on this page :
http://www.expta.com/2013/04/active-directory-operation-failed.html
Now, do you suggest the same ADSIEdit fix as they give at the end (msExchPFTreeType=1)
Somebody must have done something with those PF folders on your AD
This SBS2011 was migrated from an SBS2003 a while back...
Do you know what method was used with that migration? Was it done using the Swing Migration method or did they use the Microsoft way?
It was done with Swing Migration... that's how I did them back them :)
