Migration SBS2011 STD to WINDOWS SERVER 2019 STD w/o Exchange

Hi,

I'm about to buy your migration kit to support me on this migration in a customer's site.

My doubt is about which kit I should purchase considering that I will only migrate the DC because Exchange is not already running there.

They also have user profiles redirected to a WS2008 file server in the Domain, which I want to break and revert them to the workstations.

So, does the SBS2001 Essentials (€199) kit will be enough or, do I have to purchase any of the SBS2011 Standard kits?

thanks in advance

    Hello Mariette,

Thank you for the reply but, I don't care about the Exchange uninstall in the old server because it will be just turned off and nothing there matters to me.

So, I just want to migrate the DC and everything regarding user profiles and AD stuff, policies and permissions.

My doubt is if the steps regarding this part of the migration are the same in the SBS2011 Essentials kit and the SBS2011 Standard kit.

    Thank you very much

    Jorge,

You must care about the removal of Exchange Server from the SBS 2011. If you don't do that you will run into issues in the future. The kit for SBS 2011 standard differs from the SBS 2011 Essentials. If you buy the wrong version you can end up with problems.
