I'm currently doing a Standard + Essentials Experience Role migration. Since I'm going for the Essentials role, the guides are slightly different but I noticed the Standard guides have a Powershell script to remove the 2011 ClientAgents that you tie to GPO. The Essentials guide has you remove them still, but manually and further down in the guide.
If I get the clients removed ahead of time with the Powershell + GPO combo, is that going to break anything down the line? My concern is the weekend I do the majority of this work someone will have not left their PC on in a remote office and I won't be able to hit it manually.
I'm currently paused at step 8 while I finish setting up an SMTP server in lieu of Exchange, but I hope to have that all completed and operational next week and to finish the migration the following weekend.
Thank you!
You can remove the client agent with the script at any moment. It uninstall the ClientAgent and hardly anybody uses it.
