Hi,
I am currently migrating from sbs 2011 to office 365 for email and a local 2019 server. I have migrated the email to 365 and have joined the 2019 server as another dc, I have also migrated dhcp, printers and user shares. I am at the stage where I am trying to remove exchange from the sbs2011 server. I have been following the guide and I am at the part where I try to remove the public folders. I ran the script and it said that I could not remove the public folder as it still had a replica on the old 2003 sbs server which has long since gone. I ran adsi edit and could see that the old exchange org was still listed as was the newer 2010 org. From the 2003 org I deleted the server object for 2003 and ran the script again. It errored again saying that there were replicas present. I did not want to start deleting more objects from active directory without knowing what I was doing. Can somone let me know how I proceed please.
Many Thanks
That probably happens because there is still a Public Folder Database mounted. Can you open EAC and see if there is a PF Database listed? If so, unmount and delete it.
Thanks for your quick reply, I have tried those steps but I get this error:-
Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- The public folder database 'Public Folder Database 0491215282' cannot be deleted.
Public Folder Database 0491215282 Failed Error: Exchange isn't able to check for public folder replicas for "Public Folder Database 0491215282". Verify that the Microsoft Information Store service is running on SBS2011.JayvilleEngineeringLtd.local, and that the database is mounted correctly.
MapiExceptionMdbOffline: Unable to determine if the store has local replicas (hr=0x80004005, ec=1142)
-------------------------------------------------------- OK ------------------------------------------
Please advise
If you are stuck on this use ADSI Edit to remove the correct PF Database, see screenshot.
