SBS2011 std to 2016 Std (O365 for emails) - DNS pointing to each other breaks outlook

Point both DNS servers to each other

SBS2011 to New 2016 domain controller preferred dns 192.168.0.6 (WS2016) Alternate 127.0.0.1

This breaks connection to Outlook clients and OWA - I had to reboot the SBS - change back the DNS to itself (192.168.0.5) and START all exchange services as BPA showed the error - Issue: The DNS client is not configured to point only to the internal IP address of the server.

Can I have the preferred DNS server as itself and the Alternate DNS server as the new 2016 server on the SBS server instead?

Paul, that should be irrelevant to Office 365 and Outlook clients.
