It seems that the Access Anywhere wizard just reports that the certificate has expired and makes no attempt to renew it. I have run repair and setup etc. Doesn't appear to work. Any attempt at renewing the certificate manually would require me to have DNS access to the domain name (xxxx.remotewebaccess.com) which, of course I don't. So i'm stuck with 20+ users now with no VPN or RWA . Is there a way out of this?
Hello Allen,
As that remotewebaccess.com is a Microsoft thing I would contact them. It is much better to own your domain and manage DNS yourself. That way you can use any certificate or use the free one from Lets Encrypt Get a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate for Access Anywhere and automatically renew it.
Hi
I was afraid that was going to be the answer. Just a pity that I will have to get the links and shortcuts changed on all users desktops/laptops to have them use a new domain name from now on but that's probably easier than getting Microsoft to do anything to fix the issue. I just hoped you might have some secret method up your sleeve that I didn't know about that would make it easy to renew the certificate using the same domain name.
Thank you anyway for a quick response. Should've used my own domain name in the first place, I guess.
Regards.. Alan
