Unable to get new server DNS settings to remain on client PC"s

Struggling to get and maintain the new servers DNS to set up correctly on the clients PC's. When I check the client PC's, they all are set with a manual DNS entry that points to the old server. If I manually reset the setting to Automatic DHCP the system will show the correct DNS settings, however as soon as I reboot or log off/on the settings go back to manual and pointing to the old server.

The DHCP server options as well as the Scope options - 006 DNS Servers point to the new server.

Please advise.

Thanks

Can you remove the network adapter on such a client workstation from device manager and reboot?

Jeff Adzima

remove the wired Network adapter? I have it disabled, but you'd like it removed, as well?

No, only remove the active adapter on the client and reboot. This way the whole TCP stack gets reset. Maybe this helps...

OK, so we were in a pinch and needed to get the new stack up and running by today, so, between this issue and the GPO's not moving to the new clients, we decided to shut down the server16 and once we did that, all the clients miraculously received the correct DNS of the new server22 and the GPO's moved over after the 3rd time.

We're good to go now, dcpromo'd the server16 and shut it down.

Thanks for your process!
