Hi,
I'm running a SBS 2011 exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016 migration and receive the following warning when preparing to select a system mailbox move;
The object domain.local\Microsoft Exchange System Objects/Mailbox {ABA13AF6-DCDA-4F53-9EDF-F19C14385688} has been corrupted or isn't compatible with Microsoft support requirements and is in an inconsistent state.
I'm pretty sure that this is the system Mailbox for the server 2003 which was probably migrated previously to SBS 2011, however, although I've read some posts which seem to suggest just delete it using ADSIdit - I want to be sure that I don't delete something which is actually needed!
Thanks,
Mike
Hello Mike,
Can you run Get-Mailbox and see where that Object is stored? It is indeed correct to remove it with ADSIedit. If it is the old 2003 there is probably more that needs to be cleaned up. The hive to look for is probably CN=Deleted Objects.
Hi Mariette,
I can't seem to see how to add an image of the adsiedit for you to see here, the only place I can locate it is here;
It is in CN=Microsoft Exchange System Objects
CN=System Mailbox{ABA13AF6-DCDA-4F53-9EDF-F19C143B568B}
If I look at the properties it states the following;
HomeCTA = CN=Microsoft MTA\0ADEL:dfb8fd30-8bd2-4d5d-bee7-c96ad5d9f2f7,CN=Deleted Objects,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomain,DC=local
legacyExchangeDN =/o=mydomain/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=SystemMailbox{ABA13AF6-DCDA-4F53-9EDF-F19C143B568B}
Thanks
Have a look at this tutorial Event ID 2937 Public Folder database is pointing to the Deleted Objects container in Active Directory. It looks like a similar situation and the fix is easy. I will make a small tutorial on how to insert a screenshot later today.
I've cleared out the HomeMTA attributes for the system mailbox object, however, when I go back to the arbitration mailbox steps it is still referencing the same warning.
As the guide references PF do we still need to restart the system attendant service and Information Store?
I've restarted the old server and checked this and still get the same result of a warning at the move arbitration mailbox steps.
I'm tempted to press ahead and move the other arbitration mailboxes as I'm under pressure now to get this complete - do you have any further ideas that we could try as I don't want to break the migration but can't remain where we are.
