Windows 10 Offline in Server 2016 Essentials Dashboard after v2004/20H2 Upgrade

Hi all,

Can somebody please tell me how to get a Windows 10 machines reconnected to Windows Server 2016 Essentials Dashboard (connector software) to continue backups after updating to v2004 or v20H2?  All my Windows 10 machines no longer backup or are connected to the server after updating.  Everything still works fine on any machine still on v1909 or older.

I download and run the connector software, it finds the server, I enter network administrator credentials, it identifies the machine it's going to "replace", and it starts "configuring", but after several seconds the window just disappears and it seems things are unchanged on the server.

Is there something that needs to be changed on the server?  On the client?  Both?

Thank you for your help in advance,
James

I had this nightmare each time Microsoft updates Windows 10 clients.

I had to open SERVICES and enable every ESSENTIALS service.  I think I had to Uninstaller, reinstall the connector, reboot, enable services etc to get to finally work.

What a mess and VPN still doesn't work. : (
