Hi,
I have a customer who has an existing Windows 2008 r2 server as its only domain controller and we want to add a new windows 2019 server to the domain and then promote it to a dc, move the fsmo roles over to it along with DHCP and then remove the old 2008 server from use. Would the Windows Server 2008 Migration kit Silver at 99.00 be the correct migration guide to show me all of the steps that are required?.
Yes, a lot is the same. The only role that cannot be migrated to 2019 is the CA. If you need to migrate that role we can install a 2012R2 server together with the new 2019 DC and migrate from there.
