Windows SBS 2011 to Server Standard 2019 Migration - DCDIAG Error.

Hi Guys,

Performing Windows SBS 2011 to Server Standard Migration. Under step 1, #8, ran DCDIAG with the following results:

Error:  Missing SRV record at DNS server 10.98.17.5:
        _ldap._tcp.14c3d8ea-9702-4b22-b66e-b5caa7816f51.domains._msdcs.srg.local
[Error details: 9003 (Type: Win32 - Description: DNS name does not exist.)]

 Summary of DNS test results:
Auth Basc Forw Del  Dyn  RReg Ext
            _________________________________________________________________
            Domain: srg.local

SRG-SBS11                    PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS WARN PASS
         ......................... srg.local passed test DNS
I ran:

IPconfig /flushdns
IPconfig /registerdns
Restarted Netlogon and DNS services
nltest /dsregdns (command completed successfully)
From DNS manager, I physically searched each folder for reference to: "_ldap._tcp.14c3d8ea-9702-4b22-b66e-b5caa7816f51.domains._msdcs.srg.local"  I did not locate reference.

There is only one active NIC card in system and IPV6 is disabled.

Please let me know if you need  additional information or have suggestions.
Thank you!
Chip

Thank you so much for quick response and heads-up regarding IPv6. I'll continue to move forward.

    Have a great day!

If you enable IPv6 and you find that your server gets anything else then Link local IP addresses handed out you probably have some router advertising IPv6 addresses you must disable that on that router. Disabling IPv6 on the SBS or any other server during the cause of your migration is NOT the solution
