I followed the article above and it works amazingly well. I screwed up and ran the WSSConfigurationService at the end of the article and gave my DC the wrong name. In my defense I didn't realize at the time that it was going to promote my brand new server in my home office to a DC. So I was able to rename the server by following a few steps, but not the server folders are stuck in the Dashboard with the old DC name and I am unable to remove them, but I don't want to either since I need them to have everything working correctly with the dashboard. Any thoughts on how to rectify this snafu?
Thank you for any help you might be able to offer me with this issue.

Eddie,
Sorry to hear you got yourself in such a mess. Renaming a server that has the Essentials Experience role installed is not supported. You can rename such a server but you must remove the Essentials Experience role, run the cleanup wizard and remove the CA also. After that you can do this How to rename a domain controller after you migrated it, keep the old hostname.
Thank you for your response. I went ahead and rebuilt the server from scratch all seems to be working as expected now. I love learning!
Remember that the method to install the Essentials Experience role on a Windows Server 2019 is not supported and possibly illegal
But it works so beautifully together. I hope it wouldn't be illegal, but will be cautious about telling others now. But I just asked another question as well and told the world about it again. I will follow up on it's legalities with my Microsoft Partner Rep.
Are you doing this for a customer? Did you inform the customer about what you did and explained the risks involved? What are you going to tell your customer when it stops working because of an update?
This is for my own Personal Small Business environment. I would never do this for a customer unless it was a supported setup. It just made no sense that MS decided to get rid of the essentials experience in 2019.
