Extra step in DNS config?

We've been following the migration guide for SBS2011 to Exchange 2016, and everything went great, except we were getting a certificate error when configuring Outlook clients. We ended up having to add an autodiscover record in DNS in the forward lookup zone which pointed to the new mail server, which fixed the issue. I'd recommend adding this to the guide as it would've saved us a lot of time!

That should not be needed at all if the old Exchange Server 2010 has been uninstalled from the SBS. This related to your other issue Ask a question > Exchange 2010 uninstallation failed half way through. What now? and creating an extra DNS autodiscover record is not needed. Pls, remove that and fix the other issue first

Thanks - I guess that's our problem. The Exchange 2010 uninstaller failed half way through, and now our clients are giving us certificate errors when installing. We're trying to figure out how to uninstall manually.

This issue has now been resolved. Public DNS for autodiscover.domain.com was pointing to a wrong IP address.
