Troubleshooting VPN connections on a Windows 10 Pro to Windows Server 2016 Essentials Anywhere Access

Out of the box VPN on a Windows 10 workstation to your Windows Server 2016 Essentials does not work. We will show you in this tutorial how to create such a VPN connection and how to make it work.

If VPN does not work after you have implemented the changes from this document you may want to look into installing DHCP on the server and disabling DHCP on your router. There are some routers that cause trouble when using VPN but I have no idea why this happens. Maybe you can try this How to install and configure DHCP on Windows Server 2012 Essentials or this How to install the DHCP Server role and configure a DHCP scope on a Windows Server 2016 Essentials (TP3). The last one is also valid for the released product.
