Migrate SBS 2008 Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2019

Hi, We need to move from SBS 2008 to 2016, and Exchange to 2019. We have begun migration with new DC. Now we need to migrate Exchange. This is s small company, with les than 10 mailboxes. So my idea is to export mailboxes to PST, and reimport them in Exchange 2019. Much more easy. Can I prepare new server Exchange 2019 before beginning export PST, or can I install part ofr Exchange 2019 first? Do you have a guide about this kind of migration? Thanks JC

Pushing out a file to some workstations on a domin

I need to do a one time update for a file that is used most of the workstations on a network.  Basically replace an existing file. I don't know of a way to do this on certain computers only with GPO. Does anybody have a script or power shell command that could do this?

Migrating from SBS 2008 to O365 and a non-Essentials Server 2016/2019

I know there is a bit of nuance in every migration. We are looking to migrate without utilizing the Essentials Experience on the target server. We intend to do the built-in AD integration with Office 365, where synchronization goes up to the cloud but not down.  I ask the question because most of the guides involve Essentials or Essentials Experience. Any of your guides match that scenario? If not, is there something I should look out for? We were planning to use Migration Wiz to make the synchronization of mailboxes easier. Do you guys feel that ...

SYSVOL share missing

I am at the point of the migration where I am checking for the SYSVOL share on the new DC but I am not seeing it listed with a net share command.  I am not seeing errors in the DFS event log, only  a few warnings but they older.  Any ideas?

Remote NDIS compatible device?

I have a Server 2016 Essentials machine that has Anywhere Access enabled. Both the VPN and the website. Our server has six NIC’s. Two gigabit ethernet ports, two 10 gigabit ethernet ports, and two SFP+ ports. The four ethernet ports are on a single physical card and the two SFP+ ones are on a separate one. We are using one of the SFP+ ports to connect to our local network, and the other ports are all disabled. The Dell OS Deployment utility names the ports something like Slot 1 port 1, etc. I have the port that we ...

2x Windows 2019 Server Essentials servers?

Hi I'm just speccing a system for about 8 users. It needs to be ultra reliable. I'm aiming for 2 servers (single processor 8-core) each with RAID5, one as the domain server & with shared file storage & the 2nd server for a vertical market SQL application. This app currently runs fine with SQL Express. I'm aiming however to run the SQL on the 2nd server.  My question: Can the 2 servers both run Essentials 2019, with server 1 being the domain server & server 2 being the SQL server & a member of the domain? ...

Workstation Login Error - The System Cannot Contact a Domain Controller to Service the Authentication Request

We are experiencing a problem with a particular Windows 10 laptop computer on our network.  When traveling and using wireless networks, everything is fine.  However, when the user of the laptop tries to log into the office domain network (wired Ethernet, WSE 2102 R2), the mapped drives to the server are sometimes  marked with red Xs and the user receives this message: "The system cannot contact a domain controller to service the authentication requests.  Please try again later." Problem with client connectivity

Hi,   since updating the server from SBS2008 to exchange 2013 the clients do not connect anymore, although I already updated to outlook 2013 and tried to create a new profile, even by manual configuration. SBS 2008 to Server 2016 Without Essentials Role - previously migrated email

I am preparing for the migration described above. The new DC is already installed as a Hyper-V VM that is a member server on another box that also houses a separate VM for their SQL LOB application. The customer previously migrated their email from Exchange 2007 on the SBS 2008 server to Rackspace non-Exchange about 2 years ago. In checking the SBS server, the Exchange version on the SBS box is SP1. Since Exchange will not be part of the migration, does this have any bearing, or do I need to spend the time updating Exchange 2007 to ...

Event id 10009

I'm cleaning up a SBS2011 server for migration to Server 2016 with Essentials role.  I've got a System error 10009. DCOM was unable to communicate with TempDC.local, which was a temp DC from a swing migration years ago.  Is it essential to get this cleaned up now and will it cause any issues if I do it after the migration?

SBS2008/SBS2011 migrations

Good day. I have a few clients still running SBS2008 and SBS2011. We really need to get these clients upgraded. Here is my question: The subscriptions sold on this site you have access to EVERY tutorial for ANY migration once you pay? Also, my end result for all these clients is to have Server 2019 and Exchange 2019 on a new virtualized server for all. I have read that there are multiple hops to get this result. So I would in essence have to go from say SBS2008 to Server 2012r2 correct first? Then onto 2019. ...

Migrate Two 2012 DHCP Servers with Replicaiton-Failover Load Balancing to Two New 2016 DHCP Servers

I was wondering the best way to Migrate Two 2012 DHCP Servers with Replicaiton-Failover Load Balancing to Two New 2016 DHCP Servers. I am guessing you would Deconfigure Failovers. Then do a Export of DHCP Data and the Import to the New Server. Then Configure Failover. Any ideas?

Accidentally removed CA. Recreated as a new CA. Now I have no devices.

Hi everyone. As stated in the title I was decommissioning my old SBS 2003 server. As such, I was removing the CA service from the server. The problem is that I accidentally removed it from the new WSE 2016 server! I reinstalled the role, but configured it as a new CA. Now I don't see any devices in the dashboard, including the WSE server. Any suggestions on how to proceed? I assume I can reconnect the clients to the server, but I'm not sure about the server. Thanks!
