Error 720 in Server Connector

I'm trying to connect a remote Win 10 Home to Server Essentials 2016. This worked fine on a remote Win 7 Pro. The connector prompts for the server admin password, and seems to accept this and continue as expected, then issues the error 720 and prompts for network login, which repeatedly fails whichever account is used. The first 4 Event Log entries for RasClient look the same as for the successful PC, then "CoId={A055B497-E022-499F-BF40-CDCAA2CFAE74}: The user {username} dialed a connection named {domain}.remotewebaccess.com which has failed. Problems with Traveling Laptops on Windows Server Essentials Domain Network

In several of our WSE 2012 R2 networks, one or more of the workstations are laptops, which serve dual purposes.  They function as a network workstation on the Essentials domain office network.  In that environment, the laptops are set up with the standard Essentials configuration (e.g., DNS service provided by the Essentials server, which has a fixed IP address, etc.).  That works fine until the second laptop purpose is invoked. New public domain, can Essentials page be renamed? Certificate mismatch

My client has Windows 2016 Standard with Essentials role, and Exchange Server 2016 Standard on premise, each on their own WS2016 server, the domain name is OldDomain.local internally and OldDomain.com as the public. This has been working well for 5 months.  They have a new public domain name. A new SSL UCC certificate NewDomain.com was generated from the Exch2016 server with friendly name of mail.newdomain.com, and subject alternative names mail.newdomain.com, www.mail.newdomain.com, and remote.newdomain.com. Windows Search results are not clickable

I have just finished a migration from SBS 2011 to WSE 2016. Everything works (although I had to turn on SMB v.1 for network browsing) except Windows search. The user folders are redirected to the server and when a search is performed results are displayed. However there are two problems. One is that the results are not clickable so the appropriate cannot be launched. Remove non storage pool drive

I've been running WSE 2016 for a while on my home network for backup and serving media. I'm trying to increase the storage of my mirrored pool and need to remove a simple volume (physical) drive to free up a slot for the 2 new drives as I've only got 1 slot free at the moment. I've moved all the folders off the existing D drive but can't figure out how to remove it properly so that WSE still sees all the devices. Don't need WSUS on SBS 2011 - options?

I have a SBS 2011 server with a WSUS folder that has grown to 127GB.  I would like to either remove or disable WSUS and remove the database and update files. Once I accomplish the above, I will change the default Group Policy to no longer have stations get their updates from WSUS. What are my options for accomplishing this without breaking anything?  I have read that simply uninstalling WSUS breaks the SBS Console.

Question on when to migrate Exchange 2010 to O365 for SBS2011 to 2019 Standard

I am planning a SBS2011 to Server 2019 Standard /O365 migration. I was reading through the guides and noticed that it says that I can migrate the exchange anytime before chapter 21. I have a feeling this was a typo since that is the end of the guide (SBS is already decommissioned by then) and am trying to find out when I should pull the trigger on the migration without breaking anything. Should I do it after step 9 (Just before moving the roles) or can I wait until after the roles are moved and data is moved to ...

We are an office of about 65 employees, about 30 servers, 3 VMware hosts, a NAS, 156TB of backup data going back 8 years, 10 virtual desktops, Wi-Fi network, IP phone system, and O365. Script to determine Windows 10 builds in domain?

Is there a script, that anyone is aware of, that I can run in PowerShell to have it either look in AD or scan the domain and report back all the different versions of Windows 10 that are in my network? I came across a few sites and discovered that some workstations aren't getting upgraded to the latest builds. I tried searching for this, but can't find anything. Thanks.

Added Server 2016 (to be using Essentials Role) before I removed the Domain CSE and User GPO's on 2011

I added the new Server 2016 server as a DC prior to removing the SBS CSE & SBS User GPOs.  Do i need to dcpromo the 2016 server and start over, or is there a way to modify it so I don;t have to rejoin it? I also had proceeded to a DFRSmig stage of Global state ('Eliminated')  So there is a consistent state on all DCs. Thanks, Greg

Can't uninstall Exchange 2010- This mailbox database is associated with one or more active MailboxExport requests.

Hello. I am doing an SBS2011-Server 2016 migration and when I try to uninstall Exchange, it says that there is an active export request. I have googled around for answers, but none of the commands seem to work. I have tried rebooting the server and I have followed each step in the guide to the letter. Is there a way to get rid of this active export request via ADSI edit possibly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. At what point would I migrate Echange 2007 (2008 SBS) to O365?

Hi, I'm wondering what your advice would be on the timing of migrating Exchange 2007 to O365 from a 2008 SBS server? Currently everything sits on the single 2008 SBS server. Exchange Server 2016, receive connector with no TLS

I have a client with Exchange 2016.  They have an old phone system and voicemail system that transcribes voicemail to email and sends to the Exchange server for distribution to user mailboxes.  The Exchange server stopped receiving email from the voicemail server recently.  My suspicion is TLS. The voicemail system does not have any kind of authentication, so obviously no TLS.  My question is, would there be a downside to modifying the Default Frontend receive connector scoping to "skip" the IP address of the voicemail server, then create a separate receive connector with scoping for only the voicemail ...

Is it possible to rename the 2016 domain controller during or after a migration?

I've made the mistake of not changing the name that Microsoft gave my Windows 2016 Essentials server and was just wondering if it's possible to change the name either during or after the migration is complete.  The default name would make a better strong password than a host name.

Server Essentials 2012 R2 Access Anywhere certificate has expired. How can I renew it?

It seems that the Access Anywhere wizard just reports that the certificate has expired and makes no attempt to renew it. I have run repair and setup etc. Doesn't appear to work. Any attempt at renewing the certificate manually would require me to have DNS access to the domain name (xxxx.remotewebaccess.com) which, of course I don't. So i'm stuck with 20+ users now with no VPN or RWA .  Is there a way out of this?

Good morning. I am Migrating another SBS2011 system to Server 2016 Std. I am on Section 9 (Migrate DHCP settings) Step 28 of the guide.
