Connector wizard fails with error 1603, issue with VPN profile
Have 8 computers and a new server. 7 of the computers work just fine in connecting. One will not connect even though it connected previously, it had to be reset due to a software issue, and will not reconnect despite being removed from the server itself. The full log is posted below. I see that there's an error with teh VPN profile and throwing an incorrect structure size. I've followed every solution I could find related to non-working connectors to no avail.
The server isn't in production yet and I'm almost ready to nuke it and ...

Set up Anywhere Access fails to configure VPN
The issue:
On Windows 2016 Server with "Essentials Experience Role" installed, the script to configure Anywhere Access fails with error: "VPN was not configured successfully" .
I think I have narrowed it down as follow: The "Diagnostic Service Host service failed to start". Tried everything to fix this, and running out of ideas on how to fix this. Any suggestions?
The background:
I used the instructions " How to migrate SBS 2011 to Windows Server 2016 Standard or Datacenter " to set up the new server ...

Anywhere Access Wizard Failure (WSE 2016)
Sir:
I've been trying to configure Anywhere Access using the setup wizard in Windows Server Essentials 2016. After I click on the "I want to set up a new domain name" radio button and click the "Next" button twice, the computer proceeds to authenticate my teacherjrv@msn.com account with the Microsoft Authentication account website. It is here that the process fails. A "Something went wrong" dialog is displayed and I am prompted to log in to accounts.live.com through a browser to fix the problem but I can't find anything on this site as to how to proceed. Please ...

Use a .uk TLD with Windows Server Essentials 2016 RWA wizard
Hi All,
New to servers and the forum.
I have my own domain thewillings.uk and I would like to use this as the main default web address on my newly installed WSE2016 server. This would also translate to Remote Web Access (RWA) to be https://rem.thewillings.uk/remote when I setup RWA.
However, when i fire up the setup RWA wizard it tells me the TLD is not valid. Is there some way I can use another method to set the domain to thewillings.uk and then continue with the wizard to setup the SSL etc?
Surely I ...

DNS Script reports no DNS configured on new server
I have reached the stage where you recommend running the scripts to set the IP address of the opposite DC to be the DNS server.
From the new server ,\SetDNSonWSE2019.ps1 sets the IP of the DNS server to the old server and the alternative to 127.0.0.1 - correct
From the old server I run .\SetDNSonWSE2012.ps1 and input the IP address of the new server
It first returns the following message
"There are no Domain Name Servers (DNS) configured on this computer."
and then sets the preferred DNS server to itself with 127.0.0.1 as the alternative.

Cannot configure remote web access on Server 2016
Just completed a migration from SBS 2011 to Server 2016 Standard running the Essential role. Everything went pretty smoothly except for setting up remote web access. Running the remote access wizard from within the dashboard I log in using a Microsoft account but then get "an error occurred while setting up your domain name". In the dashboard log it shows Get live account name failed.
Anyone seen this error and know how to resolve it?
Thanks

AnyWhere Access Wizard Fails and Need to Renew Certificate on Windows Server 2016
Hello,
I have a Windows Server 2016 Essentials server that was converted to Windows Server 2016 Standard this past year. It is time to renew the SSL Certificate for the Remote and VPN access, but when I run the AnyWhere Access wizard, it fails with error "The domain name was not setup for your server...an unknown error has occurred. Please wait a few minutes and try again". Restarting/waiting does nothing. The wizard also fails during the Repair Option.
I was able to do a CSR from IIS and import the new Cert into IIS, but cannot bind ...

PDC Emulator Role - Do I need to configure the w32tm on WS2019?
I'm at the point of transferring the roles from the SBS 2011 to WS2019, there are no existing issues with time and everything is in sync.
Will I need to configure the time service to be the master on WS2019 after the role transfer? I have read some other posts that suggest having to do this however it isn't part of the migration guide?
Thanks

2016 Essentials Configuring Anywhere Access without the wizard
Hi all
I am following up on a previous post. I have had to recently rebuild my WSE server and I am at the Anywhere Access setup. I have a valid SSL Cert and can access my server at .uk/remote with no issues but the fact that remote web access needs to be started.
Did anyone ever find a solution to using a.uk TLD with WSE? Is there any way to manually configure this part of the setup? I previously ignored my .uk domain and used the .remotewebaccess.com from MS but I have had no end ...

What may I do?

Questions about Configure Outlook anywhere
I am confused about the powershell commands in the instructions. I have attached the output from running those commands.
Server names sbs 2011 = enterprise7
Server 2016 exchange 2016 = yorktowncv5
Running the command Set-OutlookAnywhere powershell asks for additional parameters.
Running Get-ExchangeServer | Where {($_.AdminDisplayVersion -Like "Version 14*") -And ($_.ServerRole -Like "*ClientAccess*")} | Get-ClientAccessServer | Where {$_.OutlookAnywhereEnabled -Eq $True} | ForEach {Set-OutlookAnywhere "$_\RPC (Default Web Site)" -ClientAuthenticationMethod Basic -SSLOffloading $False -ExternalHostName $Exchange2016HostName -IISAuthenticationMethods NTLM, Basic}
produces an error.
When all is done, it looks like enterprise7 is still the outlook anywhere server.

Configure Exchange 2016 Certificates
I'm looking to purchased a UC Cert for the new Exchange 2016 server, with mail.domain.com and domain.com as specified in the guide. Can i also add remote.domain.com as this is currently used by users, or does this cause a DNS loop as the existing SBS2011 uses remote.domain.com?
I'm guessing that it probably does, but wanted to check.
Thanks.

Renaming the domain that has been configured on a Windows Server 2016 Essentials
Hi, I'm sorry but yesterday I mistakenly asked this as a discussion rather than a question so I'm re-posting it here.
I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to rename the domain name that I chose when I installed a new Server 2016 Essentials. The domain is already in use on site so I need to use a different one. I have already removed the Essentials Role from the server and have added a new domain but when I try to add the Essentials Role back onto the server it still uses the original Domain ...

Configure Exchange 2016 with Powershell
Hi
https://server-essentials.com/support/install-exchange-server-2016-in-existing-windows-server-essentials-2016-network
Section 6 says..
' Create a folder named ‘certificates’ in the root of the system drive and copy the certificate there you will use for Exchange '
and the snippet in step 4 mentions a certificate mail.domain….pfx.
I cant see the steps how this was created?

Question about tutorial to install and configure DirectAccess on Windows Server Essentials 2016
In Step 16 of Chapter 7, it says the following:
"After some time all but one should be green. Again ignore the red warning."
This is in regards to the red flag on the "Services" component of DirectAccess.
Does this red ever get fixed? I have completed the tutorial, and have tried to do the troubleshooting validation at the end. I don't see "Direct Access" in the Settings app as shown in the screenshot in step 1 of "Test from inside your LAN". Then when I do the Get-DAConnectionStatus in PowerShell, I get the following ...

Unable to complete 'How to install and configure RSAT on Windows 10' tutorial
I should acknowledge up-front that my network is now a mess. I will state my problem but will also clarify a large variety of things that are in various stages of broken.
I have installed Hyper-V 2016 on a standalone workstation (eventually I hope to get a virtualized instance of Windows Server 2016 Essentials running there as well). I have installed the RSAT tools on a Windows 10 Professional laptop. Things go wrong for me at Step 13 when I expect to see the Hyper-V server in the management console ready to be managed but instead I see ...
