I am missing powershell on the my SBS 2008 box. Where do I get this tool?
While trying to migrate mapped drives from SBS2008 to Server2016, I find no Windows SBS Drive Mapping Policy to edit in GPM on the old or new server. I'm concerned about moving forward if the drive mappings on the users break. Any ideas please? Thanks, Mike

I re-keyed the certificate, removed the old cert from the cert store and imported the new cert into IIS. The certificate says I'm trying to connect to the internal server name but my certificate is for "mail.externaldomain.com". I have split DNS running so I can reference the external name internally.
Hi, this question is linked to the tutorial I've linked below but what I would like to know is how I can perform the host rename after I've retired the old SBS server? None of my customers can connect to Server Essentials remotely by remotewebaccess.com Seems to be a Microsoft Nameserver issue. Not good on Microsoft's part as a lot of people are using it at the moment due to Covid. Is there any work-arounds for the time being?

Mariette, I did not find mention of this on your site (unless I didn't look hard enough). I was performing the steps (chapter 13) to uninstall Exchange from SBS2011. When running the " setup.com /mode:uninstall ", it gave the following error: "Setup cannot continue with the uninstall because the DataCollectorSvc process has open files. Close the process and restart setup" . Solution: open up Task Manager, locate and stop DataCollectorSvc.exe. Then rerun the "setup.com" instruction to uninstall Exchange Also, you might include a note that depending on the server, uninstalling Exchange could take 15-20 minutes ...
There is a server share setup by the install called "Shared Folders", now I don't need this share. Under it is a "Company" folder and a "Users" folder that just points to the Users and Company share, neither of which I actually will use anyway as we have our own that will be replicated on the new server. Now the "Shared Folders" share seems to be shared from "C:\DFSRoots\Shared Folders" but I can't turn that share off as it says I have to remove it from DFS or something like that, first. Step number 14 of Migrate Exchange Server 2010 from SBS 2011 to a new Exchange Server 2016 on Windows Server 2016 states that exchange 2010 must be uninstalled before proceeding. There is a link there referencing uninstalling Exchange 2010 from SBS 2011 but I don't see any instructions in the link. Hi, Do I understand correctly that RDS Gateway does not come with Server 2019 Essentials? If this is correct using Server 2019 Essentials as an upgrade for SBS 2011 appears to be useless, where the Remote Web Workplace is used to access users internal desktops for working remotely. Does it mean that the only solution is to pay more money and have Server 2019 Standard? Ian.

Hello, I have installed the Microsoft Web Platform Installer and from that I have installed Application Request Routing 3.0 (x64) The trouble is I cannot find the ARRConfig.exe to run. I see that it installs some files to "C:\Program Files\IIS\Application Request Routing" but ARRConfig.exe isn't one of them. I have read that it should be in C:\Windows\System32\Essentials but as this server doesn't have the Essentials role installed that folder is not here. I have moved the user mailboxes but not Public (yet) when I start Outlook on the client it prompts for Credentials, but I think that is for the existing Public Folders that are still on the SBS2008 (as normal mailbox working OK and receiving email), but clicking on the Public Folder for that mailbox gives the can't access error. My 2012r2 server used to be linked to Office365 but is no longer since that feature was deprecated. However, it continues to attempt syncing a single user account every 30 minutes and throws a critical error when it fails to do so. "The Windows Server Essentials Service cannot synchronize the user password to the online identity repository. " I have searched extensively for answers but all posts on this topic date to before the feature was deprecated and address how to make it work, not how to make it stop. Thanks in advance!
